If you are a fan of baseball and of the 1-121st FA you will appreciate this article that appeared in the Milwaukee Journal in 1941! Note that the Milwaukee Brewers referenced here were of the American Association.

Below is a brief excerpt from an article that appeared in the newspaper in the spring of that year. The title of that article is Army Is Facing Assault of Anesthetic Chiggers. The 121st FA was training in Louisiana as part of the “Louisiana Maneuvers.” You can read the report from Louisiana in its entirety here.

Alexandria, La.- …”When the Milwaukee Brewers want some baseball talent in the future, they might take a look at the officers of the 121st and 126th field artillery regiments of Wisconsin. They played a game Thursday which resulted in a 28 to 20 victory for the 121st. Lieut. Bert Dunlop pitched for the winners.The division’s team, composed of enlisted men, will play the baseball nine from Barksdale field, Shreveport, at Camp Livingston Saturday and Sunday.

The equipment will be distributed to 10 regiments and special troops.“
