Battery “F” 121st Field Artillery Regiment was mobilized for WWII on October 15, 1940. The Battery and many of its Soldiers were from Whitefish Bay, WI. In February 1942 the 121st Field Artillery Regiment was re-organized and Battery “E” would ultimately become Battery “C”, 985th Field Artillery Battalion. The 985th Field Artillery Battalion arrived in the Mediterranean Theatre on September 2, 1943 and would go on to fight in Italy. The unit demobilized on October 8th, 1945 at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey.
